Dave Rootes

CEO/President

Dave Rootes, CEO and President, founded Rock Solutions in October, 2001.  He has over 24 years of experience in the product design of automotive and aerospace applications having been previous employed at Pratt & Whitney, Williams International, Analysis & Design Application Company (adapco), Ford Motor Company and EDS Nuclear.  Dave’s most recent experience was associated with reducing product life cycle costs at Pratt & Whitney with a focus on reducing CAD/CAE product design cycle time. 

His experience has evolved from the product design perspective having worked for product manufacturers throughout his career.  This background provides an extensive knowledgebase relative to product design and development processes and design criteria. Dave has been integral in evolving processes for engineering simulation software throughout the full product life cycle from preliminary design through product support.  Engineering simulation software experience includes:  Ansys and Dyna for finite elements analysis, and Fluent and Star-CD for computational fluid dynamic analysis.  Dave

Dave is a graduate of Michigan Technological University with a BS in Civil Engineering and the University of Michigan with a MS in Mechanical Engineering.  He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
